Welcoming Activities

FURG aims to provide students with respect and citizenly experience since the first days of academic life. Considering this, the Citizenly  Welcome Program was created in 2010 to welcome and integrate new students to the academic community through supportive, affectionate and respecting dignity actions which encourage citizenship practices and social responsibility. The Resolution No. 164/2010 of the Teaching, Researching, Extension and Administration Council (COEPEA) created the Welcome Program. Also, the Resolution No. 008/2004 forbids pranks that are organized and made by senior students involving freshman students.

The Welcoming Activities takes place in the beginning of each academic semester at FURG and has its most intense activities in the first two weeks of class. Senior students may submit activity proposals in accordance with an open call. After being analyzed, the activities approved start to integrate a unified program of the institution.

In the end of each academic year, the Citizenly Welcome Program holds a Closing Seminar which consists of a space with discussions and share of knowledge about the projects carried out during the year.
